漁夫の利(ぎょうふのり)

To benefit (play off) one man against another.

漁翁之利

腐っても鯛(くさってもたい)

The equivalent proverb is ‘Golf remains gold, though it lies in the mud’.

In Japan, Sea Bream is highly regarded precious fish and often used for festival or ceremony.

真金不怕火煉

 

*鯛(たい)=Sea Bream

 

歴史は繰り返す(れきしはくりかえす)

History repeats itself.

意指歷史是會重演的。這也說明了人類的愚蠢!

 

*歴史(れきし)=history

冷静沈着(れいせいちんちゃく)

It describes a person who is collected and calm.

冷靜沉著
