It surely is an easier way to start from Romaji (Romanised letters/ characters). But once you develop a habit of referring to the Romaji all the time. It’s probably not a good habit in the long term if you plan to progress to the next level.
- An easier method to get into the language
- Faster learning progress in the early learning stage
- Can slows your learning and progress down in the long term
- Can pronounce words that sound like English rather the original language in self-learning situation. It’s not recommended to people who would like to speak like the natives.
Every individual is different. If the above method works for you or if you are only interested in communicating orally in a specific language, it’s perfectly fine. Please make sure you just use it as a temporary bridging tool to assist you if you are going to advance further to reading and writing.
